A JOURNEY OF FAITH: A CALL TO BUILD, WITH ONLY ENOUGH FAITH TO ENDURE

A JOURNEY OF FAITH: A CALL TO BUILD, WITH ONLY ENOUGH FAITH TO ENDURE

In life’s vast and varied journey, we often find ourselves at the brink of new beginnings, teetering on the edge of untold possibilities and unforeseen challenges. It is in these moments that the story of our lives unfolds, shaped by the choices we make and the faith we hold. One of the profound realizations I’ve had is that it requires not just a fragment of faith to start, but a sustaining, enduring faith to build, especially from the ground up.

Lessons from Foundations

Growing up in a family of construction workers has offered me insightful metaphors about foundations and building. In construction, as in life, if the foundation is flawed, the entire building process will encounter complications. It’s a fundamental truth that resonates deeply with my experiences. I learned that while my religious foundation was steadfast, my faith had its limitations.

These limitations were often reflections of my previous encounters with failure, which instilled a profound sense of doubt within me. It’s the echoes of these past failures that made the foundations of my faith quiver when the winds of challenges blew my way.

Small Leaps and Soaring High

Steve Harvey once painted a vivid picture of life’s journey as a series of leaps. We often start with small leaps, ones that don’t necessarily lead to soaring. These timid jumps are a reflection of the guarded hope we harbor within ourselves, a subtle whispering fear of the unknown. For me, these small leaps were steps in my journey. They were attempts to rise, to climb, to reach new heights. However, when the moment arrived for a real, transformative leap, fear anchored my feet to the ground.

I discovered I had enough faith to endure the climb and embrace the journey upwards, but the prospect of leaping seemed overwhelming. I was filled with a faith that could sustain but was mucked by the fear of the jump.

Embracing the Strain of Building

Embarking on a journey to build something entails embracing the strains and stresses that come with it. It involves not just quoting faith but living it, not just starting the journey but enduring it. It’s about possessing a faith resilient enough to withstand the tremors of doubt and strong enough to sustain the pressures of building.

A Renewed Perspective

Reflecting on this journey has cultivated a renewed perspective within me. It has unraveled the intricate dance between faith and fear and has illuminated the paths of possibilities that lie in the act of leaping, of trusting, of building with enduring faith. It’s a continual process of learning and unlearning, of evolving and growing, of failing and rising.

The journey may be demanding, and filled with unforeseen challenges and untold struggles, but it’s also adorned with boundless opportunities and untapped potential. It’s a journey not just of sustaining but of enduring, not just of building but of trusting, and not just of leaping but of soaring.

A Call to Build

Thus, this is a call to build, to construct lives and legacies founded on enduring faith. It’s a beckoning to embrace the journey with all its strains and to leap with unwavering trust. It’s about transcending the limitations of our faith, breaking the chains of our fears, and embracing the boundless possibilities that lie in the act of building with enduring faith and unwavering trust.

It’s a reminder to all of us that sometimes, the journey upwards needs to be complemented by the courage to jump, to take that leap of faith and to trust in our ability to soar, to rise above our fears and to embrace the endless possibilities that life offers.
